Looking for hard to find software
Looking for hard to find software
Please help me ..........
I know this is not the right place but it's so hard to find.
Search: programming software for Yaesu FT-8000R.
And a schematic off the programming cable.
Preferably a copy of an original.
Kind regards Jan

Hi Jan PD0HNI,
I have posted your request to the Orange County ARC club in California and received back four responses. I have not personally reviewed them but hopefully they will be of help. Below is the response from Bill K6ACJ
FT8900 yes ….but no FT8000…but they could be the very same rig. The FT8900 is programmed in the CLONE mode unlike an HF transceiver that uses CAT cabling and HRD or FLDIGI software. The RT systems programming software won’t run if transferred to another PC. Google ft-8900 programming cable schematic and many examples will pop up. The cable convers COM port serial to 2 wire, very similar to the IC-706 programmer which can be home brewed. http://www.qsl.net/pa0sny/modifications.html

Re: Looking for hard to find software
Hi Jan PD0HNI,
I have posted your request to the OCARC club in California and received back four responses. Below is the response from Ron W6ZQ
As I recall this FT-8000R is an older Yaesu mobile, probably 10 years.
He may be able to find software at Chirp, its free. Google for their web site
The cable is probably RS232 type, so the computer end is a DB9, in the case of
Yaesu, RX and TX are tied together and go to the data connector on the radio.
it's probably a mini din as that is typical of that manufacturer. His manual should show the proper connection including ground return.
The cable is probably the easy thing to make, software questionably
Another source is RT systems [ http://www.rtsystemsinc.com/ ]who offers software and cables, but don't know if they support 10 year old radios.
Hope this helps.

Re: Looking for hard to find software
Hi Ken,
Thank you and all the other ham's for all the information.
I don't understand way I could not find it on the internet.
But at the end everything is coming to gather.
I know where to buy new cable and software but that is not the thing I want.
I'm trying to help a older (75) ham radio amateur.
And he is happy with all the help he can get.
Now only the software.
I have heard that it was on disk 3,5inch ?
Who can help me with a copy off the ADMS-2C disk
Kind Regards ’73 Jan / pd0hni
All the help is appreciated
