70.5-71.5 MHz Now Available to all Full Licensees
70.5-71.5 MHz Now Available to all Full Licensees
The former tortuous SRP process is now no more for this one!
Its now like 146-147 MHz - just apply on line and get one instantly - provided you are not in or near Scotland (the same conditions still apply)

NoV Application: http://rsgb.org/main/operating/licensin ... -5mhz-nov/
Guidance Page: http://rsgb.org/main/operating/band-pla ... m-release/
Please make sure its put to good use - and seen to be so !

Re: 70.5-71.5 MHz Now Available to all Full Licensees
That's great news, Murray, as it appears that the prior arrangement (SRPs) was tediously slow, and largely unsuccessful for the people who applied.

Maybe even someone for me to work! I have so far only managed QSOs with myself.
I had stopped working on this:

Now that we have easy access to, and are using, the spectrum I have moved the 71 MHz Activity topic to the Narrow Band DATV (RB-TV) Discussion Area. Great to see the activity.

Re: 70.5-71.5 MHz Now Available to all Full Licensees
Hi,
Before I start the layout of my up-converter , I would like something clarified. I have a 100MHz oscillator module which will drive a mixer fine giving me 171MHz output.Does the Minitioune continuously cover frequencies from 144 MHz up? Or, does it cover only pre-programmed discrete frequencies?
Thanks in anticipation,
Gordon (G3ZYL)

Gordon,
You can enter any frequency within its tuning range.

Hi all
If you had applied for an early 70.5-71.5 MHz NoV, please check the date as early ones will now be expiring 12 months on.
Unlike the 146-147 ones which are all synced, rolling renewals are doable for 71 MHz and to facilitate that the RSGB HQ system has just archived off the previous ones so you can reapply and renew
