Serit 4334 no longer available

As has been long predicted Serit has stopped manufacture of the 4334 NIM used in MiniTiouner and Winterhill - BATC bought 400 when Serit announced a final buy opportunity and has now run out of stock for sale.

In order to try and help the ATV community we have held back a quantity and these will be available by SPECIAL REQUEST ONLY for use in repeaters, ISS ground stations or for newcomers to the hobby who have NOT previously built a MiniTioune or Winterhill receiver – we will check!

Send an email to secretary@batc.tv with your request and if your application is successful you will be sent a link to place your order. Please do not take it personally if your request is refused.

NIMs will limited to one NIM per order, at this time this includes Winterhill builds until we understand what the real demand is going to be – please DO NOT make a second order to buy more tuners as the order WILL be refused and your money refunded.

We are trying to find an alternative but this is not easy and is a highly technical task and can only be undertaken by a couple of talented volunteers who also have other things to do - if you can help in this evaluation please contact us!

If you believe you know of a chipset or receiver that goes below 500ks let us know but we will need a very clear description, including pictures of the chipset used.

We are aware that a number of dubious sources say they can supply Serit 4334 - we have contacted a number of these sources and all we have ended up with is spam in our inbox!

This is likely to be a long-term solution but we will update you if there is any news.

Just read this on the QO-100 chat..
Serit will produce another larger quantity for a customer in January.
