Sending an output stream to the Portsdown for TX

Post by G8XPZ » Thu Apr 25, 2024 5:12 pm

Hi
I am trying to send a stream output from my computer using either vmix or obs to my portsdown to then transmit it. I have managed to get as far as external output from vmix and then understand that vmix needs to be used to stream it. ( is that udp it?) - then it starts to become a little grey in my understanding.
Can anyone point me to an article that explains it or what I need to do please?
Thanks
Steve

Thanks Dave - I have been to the article and tried the batch file in the past but struggled to get it working. I'll print the article and follow it one stage at a time and see how I get on.
many thanks

Steve

If you want to try an OBS solution that doesn't need batch files look here: https://wiki.batc.org.uk/OBS_-_Open_Broadcast_Studio

Works with a Lime or Pluto connected to a Portsdown.

The step by step instructions have been used twice successfully that I know of.
