Well, after 2 years 'Southern' is back on the show scene.

AEC RALLY

Following the disastrous and tragic fatal accident following our attendance of the 2012 event, we are pleased to confirm that we will be at the 2014 AEC Rally. Custom made Bedford VAL OOW 999G will be present both days and on our way home we will be remembering the victim of the reckless motorcycling incident of Sunday 26th May 2012. As many will know, the subsequent saga has been long, complicated and expensive, despite being completely blameless.

As in 2012, we will be demonstrating the world’s oldest fully operational colour outside broadcast unit dating from 1968 with working first generation broadcast colour TV cameras and a full range of supporting period equipment. Everything is operational and from the period - colour/mono monitors, sound/vision mixers, pulse equipment, support communications, a camera based caption system, and much more.

We will be very pleased to see friends old and new!

There will also be an ‘open day’ event later this year in Harby, also featuring ‘Southern’, alongside sister Outside Broadcast units, ‘Yorkshire-Tyne Tees’ and ‘BBC Vivat’. The details are still to be finalised, but the likely date is mid-August.
