Hi

The BATC Stand will be in the Main Hall, just opposite the RSGB stand. Benno and I will be manning it with help from other members.

There is a DATV Forum with 4 presentations at 12:00 on the Friday in Room Schweiz (NOTE - not the usual room!):

1. DATV-receiver for everybody. Rainer Flößer, DL5NBZ: SDR-Receiver, Concept, Configuration, Experiences

2. From bench to deployment -The HB9TV-1 Linear Transponder. Michel Burnand, HB9DUG: Following the prototying and testing of an Adalm-Pluto based linear transponder in early 2022, the HB9TV team installed this technology on the HB9TV-1 DATV transponder at the end of 2024. This presentation retraces the history and technical aspects of this project.

3. PicoTuner - the two-channel version of MiniTiouner. Dave Crump, G8GKQ

4. Portsdown - latest developments. Dave Crump, G8GKQ

Look forward to seeing many members there.

Hello,

I just read the AGAF review of the HamRadio Friedrichshafen.

Dave G8GKQ also gave a talk.
Interestingly, I read that a "Full HD-capable "Portsdown 5"-TX" is in development.

Is there any information about this yet?

I always have crazy ideas.
Please don't be surprised.

Thomas

I think that I may have been mis-quoted!

What I said (meant to say?) was that the Portsdown 5 was being developed to work with an HDMI screen and a mouse (as an alternative to the touchscreen), and that this meant it could receive signals and display them in Full HD.

Sadly the Raspberry Pi 5 is not very good at encoding video, so HD transmissions may be a lot more difficult.

The full presentation is now uploaded to https://wiki.batc.org.uk/HAM_RADIO_2025
