For sale is the amp I recently built for my YouTube video series.
If you want to see the amplifier in action it can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aEeQFWDPaNY
Please note that this amp has a 1-Wire temp sensor attached to the heatsink inside the case. This comes out to an external 3 pin connector. This requires 5v, gnd and then there is a 1-Wire connection which can connect to a Pi or Arduino to show the heatsink live temp.
The pallet is an E-Reon Powerblast 300, capable of 250 Watts at CW. I have tested the amp on QO-100 using a Pluto -> Amsat Driver -> Amp, and its works great on DATV.
I don't believe this amp is suitable for NB SSB, as it does not seem to like really low level inputs. Max input is around 160mW although I didn't put in anything like that for testing and using it.
Operating Voltage is 28 to 32 Volts DC, but as the 12v fans are connected in series I always kept the input voltage to 28v.
The manufacture also recommends an SWR of lower than 2:1, the transistor will fail at 2:1. I used a terminated coax isolator when testing, but this is not included in the sale.
