Standard Agile Omni MT830

Post by EddieG0EHV » Sat Apr 12, 2008 5:39 pm

Hello,
I'm looking for info - user manual, service manual, software, modifications - anything really, for the Standard Agile Omni MT830.
I've done the usual Google searches and so far have only found a few pictures.
Receiver works OK and is in constant use for 13cms with my converter.
Regards,
Eddie

Hi Eddie
I have got all the circuits and I think a copy of the manual for the MT830.
The circuits are most important.
These are very big, A1 or A2 size.
If you live near Harrow, NW London you are welcome to come and look.
To copy them would cost a fortune.
The MT830 is the most unreliable receiver I have ever worked on.
It also has a very poor weak signal performance.
My advice would be if it stops working to take it to the tip.
I can tell you a lot about it if you wish.
Look for an MT930 or MT900 or MT620 they are much more modern products.
The MT930 is capable of computer control, the others are not.

I hope this helps.
Regards,
Dave.

Hello Dave,
Thanks for the reply, most interesting.
My rx sits in the loft, permanently powered up on the one frequency. So far it's been reliable and works OK with the 13cms converter.

I have another dead rx fitted with the cam830 module which I'd like to get going. Possibly this will take computer control? I think this one is more of a challenge!

Pity you are so far South, I'm up on Tyneside so popping down to view info is sadly not possible.
Next time I get it on the bench I may drop you a line.

Regards,
Eddie

Hi Eddie
Yes I now remember seeing you on the KM stream.
Well, if you ever come to London...
If you contact me direct on: g8adm@gb3hv.com then I can give you my phone number.
and maybe you may like to give me a call when the board is on the bench.
If we have a BATC BGM this year I can bring the information with me, assuming you will be there.
The CAM 830, I think this has the LCD display, this is quite good, it's the rest of it that gives the trouble...
73's
Dave.
