BATC ATV Repeater controller. Basics for new users
BATC ATV Repeater controller. Basics for new users
Hi,
I found this project on the GitHub and installed it on a RP4. I now see a slideshow of pictures, but I can't find any information how to control it and use it. Documentation is very raw. I am checking if it can be used for our local ATV repeater, but how can I control the repeater? How can I add inputs, when using USB dongles to convert analog input signals, is it realtime? Is there by change anyone who can guide me through the first steps?

Dear Noel,
I already found that page, but it's unclear to me how to control everything. Is it only possible through DTMF or also by a webcontrol? How can I add an analog USB converter to the system and enable this? How can I switch off the slideshow and show the Picture in Picture screen?

Hi
The controller simply controls an external HDMI switch. If you give it a "signal valid" indication on one of the GPIO inputs defined in the config file, it will command the switch to show that output.
The Controller does not handle incoming video (HDMI or Analog) It only provides the slideshow and the captions, so is part of a much larger system.
Have you read the article about it in CQ-TV 275?

Dave,
I'll look into the article. So it can not generate a picture in picture view of all inputs?

Re: BATC ATV Repeater controller. Basics for new users
No, the picture in a picture is generated in the "seamless" HDMI switch which uses a framestore.
The primary test system is live here https://batc.org.uk/live/gb3hv but is undergoing maintenance prior to this evening's GB3HV net at 2000 UK time.
