Hi All,

Re. the Bigsat Golden 1 CR Digital Satellite Receiver. I now have one for 437mhz input.

Last year I bought a BigSat BS-S 67CR Digital Sat-Receiver, on ebay, for GV's 23cms digital input.

At the time I fitted a simple transistor switch from lock light.

As there has been interest in the 1CR,

I checked out the 67CR on site, it has an "IF" output socket, to GV's 23cms analog Rx, and goes down to 100ms.

Did a test, and will accept any pid I threw at it!

It is now a little more expensive a year later, from one ebay site, at 55 Euros, inc P&P, maybe cheaper elsewhere.

I just noticed in the DATV-Express user manual v20, that it mentions a PCR PID of 333 for DigiLite.

For DigiLite v1, the PCR PID is always the same as the VIDEO PID. For DigiLite v2, the PCR PID can be set independently of the VIDEO PID.

DigiLite doesn't use a DATA PID, so I suggest 258 for the future, as specified for DATV-Express.

So the default DigiLite PID list is:

VIDEO: 256
AUDIO: 257
PMT: 4095
PCR: 256
DATA: 258 (not used by DigiLite so far - versions 1 and 2)

These PIDs probably date back to earlier "Poor Man's DATV" developments by M0DTS and French stations.

Hi Brian G4EWJ,

I have corrected the DigiLite value used for PCR PID in Draft23 of the DATV-Express User Guide. The newer User Guide can be downloaded as a PDF at http://www.DATV-Express.com . Just go to the PROGRESS link shown on left-side of the HOME page and go to the bottom of the PROGRESS page.

Thanks for pointing out my error on the PCR PID.

OK Ken. Does DATV-Express use the data PID?

Hi Brian G4EWJ,

DATV-Express does not use DATA PID at the present time, however there will be nothing stopping people using things like OpenCaster with it. http://www.avalpa.com/the-key-values/15 ... opencaster The project teams first goal is to release a DVB-S video capability to general ham population, followed quickly by DVB-T. There are many functions and features that can/will be added to the DATV-Express design as interest and time and effort allow. But, the provisions for fully implementing DATV PID are there in the framework.
