Bank Holiday Activity
I am all set up for 146.5MHz RBDATV in IO83. My site is excellent to the South and useless to the North.
2m - 9 element yagi, TX 2W, nice and clean as it needs to be up here, sufficient for a 25W EIRP. I can still receive on 144.750 while transmitting on 146.5MHz, but not vice versa. I can receive my own DATV transmissions but there isn't anyone else around locally to test sensitivity with. 70cms should also work, 5W to a 19 element
23cms is a bit limited - it works, with 5W but the antenna is a small double quad and its quite low. So only good for local QSOs.

Re: Bank Holiday Activity
I'll try to find a way of temporarily lashing the 2m beam to the pole holding the 23cm antenna during the week. I'll bring the 70cm converter to NWR on Thursday.

Hi Brian,
Very good - chances are I will be back down south on Thursday.

Re: Bank Holiday Activity
I will be going out on Tuesday afternoon to IO91JH to try to work Mike on 146 MHz.
Be good to work anyone else who is around...

Re: Bank Holiday Activity
It's a bit breezy here today, so I'll have to cancel the temporary antenna setup.

Re: Bank Holiday Activity
Post diluvian interlude, Noel and I tried 146.5 DATV over a 268km path, Winter Hill IO83RO to Hannington IO91JH. While we could easily work each other on NBFM, signals were not quite strong enough for a carrier lock. In my view, the 25W EIRP just isn't enough. It will take a good lift or a better path to break 250km.
Thanks to Noel for trying, twice.
