I have tested again the 2 USB cards I was talking.

I have used their standard BDA driver and TransEdit and tried to find the lowest SR they can work:

==> TBS 5980 can lock down to 480 kS/s
==> Prof 7500 can lock down to 1000 kS/s

These cards have both STB6100+STV0903 that can work down to 105kS/s using Tutioune1600 version0.6 and the TT S2-1600 card (and not the BDA driver).

TransEdit (or DVBviewer) just ask the BDA driver to do the job. So it is the BDA driver (and firmware) that are not very well set for low SR.
I have not tried these cards under linux, but as I have seen, linux driver for these chips is not also optimized.

I continue to work on these cards to see if we can fix this setup to be able to use lower SR.

I can't speak for these cards but the TT connect S2-3600 (now obsolete) requires the Linux module
to be recompiled as the minimum symbol rate is hard coded into one of the files, this means that out of
the box it won't operate below 5 MS/s. As it uses a similar chipset to the ones Jean Pierre mentioned
the same will probably apply.

I see you can buy the TBS 5980 for under £72.00 from a French Ebay seller, also same sort of price from far east,
can't find the DVB-S2 7500 USB, lots of ads and talk, no sales, some of the talk goes back a few years?
As we are paying over £200.00 for a Tx it's not bad, esp if Jean Pierre gets Tutioune working with it.

Just a "quick" laptop for portable.

Hi Freddy,

Thanks for the link, hard to find that one!

Gets a good review with the Satellite users,
might have a "look" at that and the TBS 5980 ;)

Re: Low symbol rate receivers Prof DVB-S2 USB 7500

Looks like the Prof Revolution USB 7500 is going to be hard to find, the only supplier found so far,

Satmultimedia emailed saying, "The item is no longer in stock and we do not have a delivery date!".

Looks like the TBS 5980 is the only one available at the moment ?

The 7500 in various versions has been around for some time.
