DATV DXpedition 18 - 21may 2023

Post by pe1itr » Sat May 06, 2023 9:28 pm

Hi,

From 18 to 20 May I will travel through Germany, France and Switzerland. I will then be QRV with DATV on 2m and 70m from the locator squares JN48, JN38, JN47 with a good take off.

I try to make DATV QSOs with stations in the Northern Netherlands via Airplanescatter. It may also be possible to the south of England which is about the same distance.
Information about the trip is on my website: http://pe1itr.com/expeditie/2023-hb9-dxpedition/

Hi,

The DATV DXpedition was a success. I have a short report on my website: http://pe1itr.com/expeditie/2023-hb9-dxpedition/

One of the highlights was a two-way DATV QSO between HB9/PE1ITR (JN47CF) and PI4GN (JO33HJ) over a distance of 695 kilometers. I believe a datv distance world record. The radio propagation was aircraft scatter. They were nice long reflections, partly due to the greater distance between the stations. D8 signals for 10 seconds or more. Very impressive.
Below are pictures of my station during this QSO and the screenshots on both sides. More info on my website.

Well done,

I think that record on 2m will stand for some time, if not forever!

Congratulations with this results Rob!

I have the feeling you will break your own record in the future :D
A pity the EME contact was not (yet) successful. Probably your next try will succeed!
