Well that was fun :D

Weather could have been better as aiming an 80cm dish on 24GHz in 40-50mph winds was not easy!!
Due to the winds i only had the shorter mast and 2/3 of the 70cm antenna.
Glad Dave made his way up here, would have been a bit quiet otherwise, although 5 local 'ish' stations were on over the two days.

No Dx worked, tropo conditions = appalling, not a peep either way from myself to G4NZV/G3VKV on 23cm/70cm so that says it all... there's nothing in the way really.
That's probably why not much heard on 144.750, we were using it both days and never had to move off for other stations!

Everything worked, very surprised so I'm happy with that.
Didn't get time to use DxSpot.tv, so sorry if I missed anyone there, just too occupied with local talkback for that, i even had to shut atv south off on Zello...sorry!
note: I couldn't log many of my contacts on dxspot for some reason...? accepted but not displayed.
Saw 5 ATV Repeaters from IO94JF: GB3GG,GB3TT,GB3YT,GB3EY,GB3VL.

Anyway, I look forward to the next portable outing.
Thanks to all for QSO's over the weekend.

We had fun in Kent too.

Did some /p between Stockbury, Kent and G4AYT, Chris, in Whitstable, Kent, using WB FM. Started off with 5.6GHz, then went onto 23cm. A few Watts only each way. Nice signals over about 30km of rolling countryside.

Hope that you all had a busy contest. I managed 47 contacts - thanks to all who persevered to get those extra points.

Entries MUST be submitted on the new entry spreadsheet here: https://wiki.batc.org.uk/File:ATV-conte ... 220611.xls . Please do not use older versions.

UK Entries should be sents to contests@batc.tv before Monday 27 June. Other entries should be sent to your National Coordinator or atv@iaru-r1.org.

It's never too early to submit your entries - I have received 2 already.

What a weekend-----
'Mr Whippy/M' (as our camper/radio truck is called) made the 90 mile trundle to Walbury Hill loaded to the gills with gear for 2m-24GHz. 2m wasn't used except for talkback, ZELLO was very flaky due to poor mobile coverage (on top of the highest hill in the SE!!).
23 stations were worked, on 70, 13, 9, 6 and 1.2cms. 3cms had developed a nasty frequency 'wobble' (possibly the significant wind on the cheap eBay ADF4351 LO) and wasn't working very well at all.
Fuel used was about £75 worth, but it is 39 years old and very heavy.
Nothing vital left behind this time (phew) and other than my small generator not liking heavy loads from SMPSUs for the big PA's it all worked well. My 70cms amp survived TXing into thin air, as did my QO-100 13cms unit. The best behaved was my 24GHz gear, but that is mainly thanks to the surplus Wavelabs transverter unit that I have repurposed. 2 Watts and a good RX strip, just add LO, PSU and IFs from a Pluto. Still some left here too... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/203460771792.

A very busy weekend, thanks to all who tried, and apologies to those I missed. 6 bands is a big workload ;-)

Pictures show the 2m talkback, 70 & 13, then the dish for 24GHz and the flat-plates for 9 & 6cms.

A fun but hectic weekend roaming to 7 different sites and operating on the microwave bands.

Apologies to those who I heard but did not work, I just did not have time as I was working 9 bands! Hopefully, the rules will be changed for next year to make it more manageable and more inclusive...

Highlights were receiving Dave M0YDH on 70cms over 74km (with a beam 4ft off the ground), Gareth's G4XAT amazing 24GHz setup (proves anyone can do it) and working Dave G8GKQ over a 138 km path on all bands from 2.3 to 24GHz.

I managed 4. Dave, G8GKQ/P, Gareth G4XAT/P, Arthur G4CPE and Neil G4LDR. All on Saturday. All on 70cm. I also worked Arthur on 23cm. I had set up 6m, 4m, 2m, 70cm and 23cm.

More known sporadic E (Es) ATV contacts?

The six meter band is not included in the IARU part of the contest but I look forward the results within six weeks after the contest (as declared in the contest rules).
