50 MHz to 1255 MHz Informal Contest - 11/12 September
50 MHz to 1255 MHz Informal Contest - 11/12 September
As announced in CQ-TV 272, there will be a 50 MHz to 1255 MHz Contest on 11/12 September (replacing the oringinal 4/5 September dates).
I won't be taking it too seriously as a contest, but will be out portable on one of my local high spots (tbd within 50 miles of Salisbury) with 146, 437 and 1255 MHz (and 5.7 GHz to contribute to the activity ladder) on the Sunday morning.
It would be good to see some more stations out - single band is fine. Let's get on and use the bands!

Thanks for the reminder Dave.
I'll be out portable on Sunday with 2/70/23 from IO94LI from ~10:30am.
I'll also have all uWave band gear with me too just in case
Missed not having any activity in August!

I'm happy to go out on Sunday, although ideally 'not too far' as will have just done a round trip to the York area @ 450m round trip.

I have now decided that I will got to Lulworth in Dorset (IO80WP11AF) on Sunday with 146, 437, 1255 and 5761 MHz DATV. I will also have 24 GHz SSB (and ATV) for the Microwave activity day. Probably active from about 1030 to 1500 local.
This site has potential - last time I was there I worked M0DTS on 70 cm at 420 km.
Please give me a call on 144.75 FM, 144.39 SSB or 433.45 FM.

Got my 10m Pump-up mast operational in the garden this afternoon with my 70cms beam atop. This gave me another 3dB into HV (extra height) for the same RF.
I can run 60W+ DVBS2 tomorrow, I was planning on beaming out towards Lulworth for a while and also up north-west (Mike ) and North to Rob.
Its still an 'armstrong and legs' rotator (I go down 2 flights of stairs and turn it by hand) but I can aim it by compass bearing.
I'll be set up from around 10:30 am Sunday, talkback might be easier via my mobile (Dave) or Whatsapp (Rob). I will listen on 144.750 but not in a great spot.....
Can swap to 2m with a decent beam in about 30 mins if anyone ants to try.

Currently (Sunday 12th Sep), set up for RX/TX on 146.5MHz DVBS/S2 if anyone wants to try to Carshalton-on-the-hill, IO91wi15bu. Can also QSY to 4m or 70cm. RX not very good on 70cm but I can put out a few Watts from the Dolphin amplifier. Can also do DVB-T with a bit of pluggery.
Monitoring 144.750 vertical FM and also on Zello.
