Re: portable rx tonight Lincolnshire worlds 15/4/21
well a very successful test tonight. The main test was trying out the cantennas
this is the rough knock up of my portable station i used tonight
on the top is a 3d printed tonna that works ok then my 2meter 3d printed beam that works very very well and below is my cantenna.
my 3d tonna is a little battered as is about to be sent to the scrap corned of the garage
no preamp was used just an adapter from N type to F and sat coax to my minitioune reciever If anyone is able to use mmana-gal and work out what the gain and beam with of this antenna is .I would love to know.
I believe its around 12dbi but I don't have any info other than what i found on the web based on cantennas for 2.4ghz.I cannot find anything in relation to using them on 1.3Ghz. I an by no means technical but i like to knock things up and see if they work. I does seem to be that the cantenna on 23cms works very well. Ive just had a longer can made of the same dia 150mm but 389mm long. going to make this one up and test against the coffee can. in theory it should have more gain and narrow beamwidth. wont know till i build and test it, Hopefully with in the next week depending of work
these are made for coffee and tuna cans 150mm in dia
they are very simple to make and as you can see work very well
