There should be some Wirral stations on 23cm and 6cm this afternoon.

Great news Brian. I'm set up on the Long Mynd IO82NN94 12.45pm BST and calling on 144.750FM. Zello is on ATV South.

6cm FM ATV is ready

Thanks very much to Steve M0SKM. we tried a 173 km path skirting the hill tops on 437MHz 333KS DVB-S2 and it didn't work.
🤔. Brown Clee Hill is the better place

David, nothing heard on 750, but I am vertical. I'm having equipment problems after a long layoff, but I could try 23cm receive. I don't have Zello, but name a frequency and SR and I'll leave the rx on.

The club is QRV for 6cm now, so try beaming this way.

Hi All,

Nothing heard all day here in Harwell on 144.750 with an omni vertical antenna. My experience is if you can't hear them on 750 it's not likely to work for DATV.

I will be out on Sunday morning at Dean Hill near Salisbury IO91EA with 146 and 1255 DATV. Talkback on 144.75 or mobile phone.

Brilliant weather this morning at Dean Hill near Salisbury. Managed to send 1255 MHz 333 kS pictures to John G7JTT/P near Beaulieu in the New Forest (27 km), but only had occasional indications of lock from him. During subsequent testing the beacons GB3USK and G8MBU were very strong, but the receiver noise floor also seemed very high. So I may have too much gain in the 23 cm receive chain. Further investigation required.

No reply to any calls on 144.75 MHz, so spent the rest of the morning trying to identify unwelcome noise sources affecting talkback reception. As expected there were at least 2 eBay buck regulators that need some attention to lower the noise floor on 2 metres.

Hi Dave,

I've been monitoring all weekend and not seen/heard a sole. Tried calling on .750 on both vertical and horizontal but nothing. Tried putting signals out on 1255 and 437 but not a single bite. Likewise, I looked around at the beacons and GB3USK was 59+20dB as was G8MBU. Looking at beacons on 2m I could hear French and Spanish beacons but again no humans...hi. I think perhaps the weather was too good and everyone was on the beach?

I think we are all too far apart. Nothing here on 144.750 either. There are hills in the way though. Nice weather won't last so best make use of it.

Great day out today backpack portable in the new forest near beaulieu airfield. Set up was super quick, except I first set up on a flying ants nest ! Anyway soon moved and ready to go, couldn't quite make it to Dave but got his signal at around 14db MER first go. Now I know it works might need to leave it in the works van for a lunch break session 🤔
