Some technical issues on this evening's net, but some interesting content as well. Thanks to G0MJW, G0DQH, G0NZO, M0DTS and G0AZQ for participating. Mike has posted a YouTube recording here: https://youtu.be/_cX9dgddeVc. Picture of the evening from M0DTS - his 122 GHz transmit/receive module.

Hi ALL!,
I have had a few problems with my system which is why I haven't joined the last couple of Nets.
One problem has been receiving the sound from some stations using my MiniTiouner-Pro.
The sound would be pulsing and difficult to copy.
Just been doing tests with my station I use vMIX and IPTS in on the Portsdown output to Lime DVB.
Using the Net settings of Sym Rate 333 and FEC 3/5 & H264 had the problem of pulsing sound.
I don't remember having this problem but so many changes to my system and never log them all down.
If I change the settings to Sym Rate 333 and FEC 1/2 sound is good.
It could be a network problem not my expertise will try connecting my vMix computer network direct to Portsdown.
Will try to join the net if I can fix the pulsing sound at FEC 3/5.

Hi All,
Now using FEC 1/2 or 2/3 all OK.
I got confused with Net parameter's used.
Symbol Rate 333 kS
FEC 1/2
Encoding H264

Should be back on the Net on Thursday.

Hi Martin

The net now uses FEC 2/3. We started on the first week with FEC 1/2, but the resulting video bitrate was slightly too low for the picture quality that we wanted to achieve, so we changed to 2/3.

Pleased to hear that things are working at 2/3.

Re: BATC Net on QO-100 - streaming needed

Post by g8gtz » Thu Jul 02, 2020 7:42 am

I'm not going to be able to do the streaming for the BATC net next week July 9th or July 23rd.

Can anyone else take this on - you'll need to practice first and if transmitting on the net make sure the streaming device is not connected via wi-fi!

Offers?

Another good net tonight with 11 of us on. And no technical problems at all! Well done to: G0MJW, G8KOE, G0DQH, HB9DUG, M0DTS, G4HIZ, G7JTT, G8GTZ, G0NZO and G0AZQ.

Remember 8pm Thursdays, 10499.25 MHz 333kS, FEC 2/3 H264.

Picture of the week is from Jules G0NZO, using his phone as the camera and encoder.

Another interesting net last night. Thanks to G7JTT, M0DTS, G0DQH, G0MJW, M0EYT, G4KLB, G0NZO, G8KOE and G0AZQ. Ten of us in all.

Windows 10 updates seemed to have caused many participants problems on both transmit and receive. Those of us running Linux for TX and RX were unaffected. Unexpected picture of the evening was some Full HD H265 Contest numbers from G0MJW!

Thanks to martin for the streaming - not an easy task.

There was some debate about whether we should allow H265 on the net. I would be happy with this - what do you all think?
