5th and 6th May 2019 activity weekend
Hello all
I'm considering going to Titterstone Clee hill car park near Ludlow on the Sunday. That's conditional on fair weather and a working car. It would be to test my 2m, 70cm and 23cm DATV with a Portsdown 2018 so DVB-S only.Would there be anyone to the south west round to the east of the hill to receive and reply? I want to assess my station performance, check the fully charged batteries actually last and maybe just maybe have a first tv 2 way qso.
I don't think I'll be able to join Noel and my clubmates on the following Sunday on Brown Clee hill. Dad's taxi service is in operation that day.

48 views. No replies so I'll stay at home tomorrow rather than drive 120 miles round trip.

Hi Dave,
I sense we are all suffering Oscar100itis - which is a pity as we had a lot of activity a year ago and I feel the UK contest entry next month will suffer.

I'm happy to go out with 146 tomorrow afternoon to Walbury Hill - I worked FRE on that path on 50Mhz last month and looking at the plots it should go easily on 146Mhz.
Maybe with the lack of interest today we should postpone the activity weekend until next weekend when we know stations will be out on Winter Hill and Brown Clee.
Let me know if you decide to go out tomorrow or if not why not take some gear with you next Sunday and try to work us on your way home.

Hello Noel
Thank you for the reply. I thought there would be lots of stations by ATV standards out the month before the contest just like last year too.
I agree 12 May would be best. Our car will be full of Tom's belongings on the outward trip so no chance there for my gear. Ron M0RNW is considering hosting my station at his home on Goldthorne Hill here in Wolverhampton. It affords fair views of Brown Clee. I'm going out this afternoon to see what parking spots exist along County Lane and around Seisdon that may work for a quick activation close to home. I have offered Heather a DATV station so it can be tested and used!
I'll post again later today after my trip.

Hi Noel.
I found a fair parking spot near Pattingham which is visual line of sight to Brown Clee Hill. I'll try to get there on 12 May early afternoon after a brisk morning trip to Nottingham. I'll monitor 144.750 fm in the car. I think I'm after a 2-way QSO on TV and at 30 miles stand a better chance next weekend. Thanks for offering to go up on the Ridgeway.

Hi Rob,
Several of us will be out next Sunday from Brown Clee and Winter Hill with 146MHz and other bands so if you or others are free it could be worth coming out.
Re contest - same here, not planned anything yet but several of us will be out with as many bands as possible.
