The final activity weekend of 2018 happens this weekend - the weather forecast doesn't look too bad and in the previous 2 years the December weekend has seen good levels of activity, despite it being the depths of winter!

G8GTZ/P will be out on Sunday (family takes priority on Saturday) somewhere in the south of England with a choice of bands from 50MHz to 76GHz, excluding 47GHz, depending on what other people are doing!

It is the Telford ATV weekend and they are proposing to activate Brown Clee, which is one of the best sites in England, on Sunday so should be some good DX - hopefully they will post more details.

You can use this as a good opportunity to warm up your gear for the 7 day Christmas repeater contest! (more details to follow).

I will likely be at IO94MJ and should have most bands with me as usual.

Hope to be out sunday on 2m with my new 6 element beam probably from lane end just east of Winchester

I'm planning to go to Win Green near Salisbury (IO80WX) on Sunday with 71Mhz and 146MHz but could take other bands if plenty of notice.

Plan is to try and work Dave G4FRE who is going to Clee Hill and anyone else who is around.

I've only got decent power on 5.8GHz, if anyone wants to try any paths to SE London around here (IO91xg, IO91xh, and JO01ag). One site has a good take-off to the south at the top edge of a deep chalk quarry, 'Woldingham view point'.

I have been listening to 144.750 all morning and all afternoon and so far, nothing has broken the squelch (which is set to a minimum by the way). I think the weather put everyone off.
