Hi All
I am planning to be up at Walbury Hill with my new 5665Mhz rig on the afternoons of Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th
I can't do Sunday morning as we have a family visit due.
The equipment seems to work but needs a real test.
Anybody else going to be active?

I also want to test my rebuilt 5.6GHz system. I planned a test with G4UVZ in Taunton from Pen Hill on the Mendips. To avoid the heat of the day, we were planning 6.00-8.00pm Sunday, but could get there earlier. What will suit you? Walbury should go from this site which is over 300m asl and good to the East.

Pen Hill is where the Mendip main TV transmitter is IO81QF, 303m asl. Nearest town Wells, Somerset to the south. Just done a quick plot, Walbury to Pen Hill, 81km , looks very close to line of sight, so should be OK. Be a nice test for both systems. I have about the same power as you.

Just to confirm that I shall be at Pen Hill, near Wells, Somerset, IO81QF, from 6.00pm today, Sunday 15 July, with 5665MHz FM ATV. Talkback 144.750MHz vertical, Zello channel ATV south or Whatsapp ATV south or 07873 348 455. The primary purpose is to test my rebuilt kit with G4UVZ, but will be pleased to try any other paths if anyone is still out then.

We had a very successful evening visit to Pen Hill, Somerset, IO81QF46VP. Thanks to Brian G6AUR for providing 4 wheel drive transport to get across the field. We worked G4UVZ near Taunton P5 both ways at about 40km distance. My rebuilt 5.6GHz system worked perfectly so I am looking forward to trying it on longer paths next.
