Activity Weekend 7/8 April
Re: Activity Weekend 7/8 April
We worked 72 miles from Corney Fell into Dolphin, North Wales. P5 / 4 both ways. Pity about the weather.

Yes we hope so.
Just need some GM and GI volunteers

Hi
I had 2 contacts on 5.6 GHz FM ATV from Win Green (IO80WX) yesterday, both over obstructed paths, G8GTZ/P at 36 km and GW8VPG/P at 109 km. Neither anywhere near P5, but I was pleased considering the paths.
Also worked G4BVK in Bristol and received some excellent H265 pictures on 146 MHz from him.

Good stuff here - what do people use for tile overlays ?M0DTS wrote: ↑Sat Apr 07, 2018 6:04 pmToday was a fun day out, quite a few stations to work on 6cm.
On 6cm:
G0RPH/P and G4PDF/P nr Caistor, Lincolnshire
G8AGN/P and M1EGI/P at Sheffield
I think all participants worked each other in a triangle roughly 100km all paths
My 600mW 6cm Tx died on the second round after i had tweaked the elevation on my dish so i had to call it a day on that band, looks like the smd regulator IC died as it is now charcoal!
on 23cm:
I also worked M0MLJ at Bolsover 108km, been a long time since i worked Ray, nice to see another signal again 23cm analogue.
I also saw GB3VL, and G0KOO from Boston accessing VL.
Will be out again tomorrow from ~1pm (after lunch!) @IO94MJ, hopefully lots of stations can make it on then too
Rob
Re: Activity Weekend 7/8 April
We had a very successful expedition to the Blorenge on Saturday 7th April. The rain stopped by the time we arrived and the weather was quite comfortable for a mountain - we have experienced far worse in the height of summer. The aim of the day was to give the 5.6GHz system a good test. This was very successful and all three portable stations - G4UVZ/P, G8GTZ/P and G8GKQ/P being worked two way. The best dx was G8GKQ/P at 109km, a new personal best. Thanks to everyone for making the effort to work us and to Brian G6AUR for accompanying me and the following photographs.

Re: Activity Weekend 7/8 April
Sorry Brian. I missed everything I'm afraid due to being broken.. I spent yesterday laid diagonally across the sofa like a plank (and probably again tonight too) I get this sorta thing once in a blue moon. Grrr
Back started to ache Friday night and by Saturday night I took to the Baileys Medicine..
Hopefully I'll get out properly next time, or maybe even in between since we are trying to make contact to Barnsley a possibility.
I hope you had a good day of it.

It looks like someone made contact with Australia at the top of this page, that must be the record.
