After being weathered off a few times, we finally managed to pick a good day. GW3NWR/P was at Dolphin near Flint. M0KPW/P was at Birkrigg Common south of Ulverston, G1ZIM was at Millom and G0HIK/P was at Walna Scar near Coniston.
A 2-way was completed between GW3NWR/P and M0KPW/P at 101km, almost line of sight, with signals P4/5. It was P5 with lots to spare when M0KPW put on his 2.5W amp.
A 1-way from GW3NWR/P to G1ZIM was completed at P4/5 over 107km. It was subsequently found that there was a problem with G1ZIM's tx and he would have been easily received as he was running more power. I was surprised at the G1ZIM contact, as the path is mostly over water, but very much not line of sight. Perhaps we caught a duct.
No contact was made with G0HIK/P and he unable to move location due to lack of time.
The equipment in use at GW3NWR/P was a TS352 running 1200mW to a 24dBi panel. The receivers were an RC305 FPV type and a DG0VE converter with a Pace MSS508 sat rx. The latter was a few dB better and had the advantage of being able to reduce the video bandwith and turn off the video squelch.
Thanks to all who took part.
