Dave,

We'll certainly give it a try. Kirkstone is well blocked and so is Jubilee Tower, but the latter looks do-able if we can find a parking place just up the road in Quernmore.

Which bands will you have? Are you going right to the top? There'll be station(s) in North Wales that you might work from there.

I've only got 2m as I'm new to this game. I'm also going to be time limited as we've got a family event in the evening. Hopefully I'll get some contacts as i do have a good aerial and a DG8 preamp for my minitiouner. I'll not be at the very top, I'll be on the plateau in front of GB3EV. If you have WhatsApp and want to PM your mobile number we're setting up a NW DATV group to arrange skeds, its very much a new thing but we're hoping it takes off.

Sunday 10 June is the PW 2m QRP contest. I expect many popular sites will be in use for this and there will much QRM on 2m.

For the BATC 146 MHz Contest this weekend, please submit entries using this spreadsheet https://wiki.batc.org.uk/images/2/28/14 ... YYMMDD.xls.

Scoring is 2 points/km for a 2-way contact and half that for a one-way contact. Rules are identical to the IARU Contest Rules, except that the only valid band is 146 MHz.

Remember that a £50 Amazon Voucher will be awarded to the winner of the 146 MHz BATC Contest.

Scoring Spreadsheets

Some notes on the Scoring spreadsheets:
  • You must "Enable Macros" on opening the spreadsheet to all all the calculations to run.
  • To be valid for points, a the report must be at least P2. By definition, a P1 picture is not good enough to read numbers.
The spreadsheet for 432 MHz and up is here: https://www.iaru-r1.org/images/VHF/atv/ ... YYMMDD.xls

The spreadsheet for 146 MHz is here: https://wiki.batc.org.uk/images/2/28/14 ... YYMMDD.xls

Completed logs should be submitted to contests@batc.tv before Monday 25 June.

Good luck!

BATC Awards

As previously advertised, the following awards will be made to UK-based stations during the 9/10 June Contests:

A £50 Amazon Voucher to the winner of the BATC 146 MHz Contest
A £50 Amazon Voucher to each station in the Best DX 2-way 5.6 GHz Contact
A £50 Amazon Voucher to the transmitting station using a Portsdown system received at the the furthest distance (any band)

Here is the small print:
  • Award entrants must have been located within the UK for the contest, but need not be BATC Members
  • Award entrants must have operated within the terms of their Amateur Radio Licence
  • Award entrants must have conducted themselves within the spirit and letter of the published IARU Contest Rules
  • To qualify for the Portsdown award, the transmitted DATV signal transport stream must have been generated by a Raspberry Pi running the Portsdown software. This permits the use of Portsdowns with DATV Express or BATC Filter-modulator boards.
  • In the event of a dispute, the decision of the BATC Committee is final
Awards will be presented during the BGM at CAT 18 (on the Sunday).

The site is very good in all directions and I also hope to work the team on Brown Clee plus other on 146Mhz.
