February 10th and 11th activity days
February 10th and 11th activity days
Time flies and it's another activity weekend!
I'm planning to go out on Saturday only as I'll be going to the Didcot rally with the BATC stand on Sunday.
Current options for Saturday are weather dependent (looks like rain!) but could be:
The Ridgeway near Didcot or Walbury - maybe some 24GHz with G0MJW and G4FRE or 5.6GHz towards the Luton area?
Dunstable Downs - 5.6GHz and other bands and maybe 24GHz NB with G4BAO near Cambridge.

Better dig out 24GHz but we will be busy Saturday afternoon with Rally Preparations.
Re: February 10th and 11th activity days
Having been out doing contests for the previous 5 weekends and as I am going to Harwell Rally Sunday I will not be QRV this weekend

Re: February 10th and 11th activity days
I want to test my 5.6GHz equipment now that I have done some more work on it, but Saturday is wet all day and Sunday is the Harwell rally, so it will have to wait until next month.

Hi Shaun
I will have my 5.6 GHz Equipment on the BATC Stand at the Harwell Rally on Sunday if you want to do any local tests.
Unfortunately I am unable to get on the air on Saturday.

Thanks Dave. I haven’t done anything to the RF part, so it should be OK as I worked G4UVZ at 46km last time. I’ve changed the relay driver circuit to that in the current CQ-TV, since the Ebay upconverter wiped out 2m talkback with hash and done a few mechanical mods to firm everything up. See you Sunday. 73 Shaun.

I may be out from IO94MJ Sunday for a few hours...
Temp forecast 0C and 40mph winds... any northern takers?!

Re: February 10th and 11th activity days
Hi Rob, Yep I should be out for an hour or two tomorrow and just local too. I've been concentrating on 5665MHz and have got transmit constructed, Receive works but isn't really portable ready although I'll take it along. Rx on the dish will have to wait until I can repair my Transfer relay..
I'll put the 23Cms stuff in too but it's messy to setup the big mast so I'll resort to the Alford Slot, I should be due South of you in IO93KQ or possibly IO93JP since KQ has too many obstacles to the North, 8 Cooling Towers for a start...

Sorry I'm not going out today, yesterday i looked at forecast and it was very poor so didn't get the gear organised to go.
Wx this morning looks much more appealing, typical!
I don't have the new 6cm gear quite up to scratch yet for portable so it would have just been 23cm/2m.
