Hi Brian
If you point analogue 23cm on 1249 WNW you may get into GB3TM on the Isle of Anglesey: IO73UJ - Rx is 1316 @ SR4167 FEC7/8 - message me if you'd like a sked - we have a few of us active here but usually so quiet on activity weekends!
70cm digital input is also available on the repeater but you list 23cm & 2m only

Re: May 6th and 7th activity weekend
Hi Chris,
We'll certainly do that. TM was a good signal last time we were up there. I won't make a definite sked time as these outings rarely go to plan. We aim to be set up on 3cm at 12:30 local on Sunday and later in the afternoon on 23cm. Does anyone out your way have 2m RB-TV?

Re: May 6th and 7th activity weekend
Brian KAZ has 2m rx though I don't know about tx power yet and his home qth is below the skyline from your proposed location tomorrow I think (he may also be travelling).
I have basic capabilities on both rx and tx but no rx front end and no PA (and my 2m antenna is down at present).
I guess that makes it a 'No' to 2m this time but I'll update you if I get the 2m Antenna back up we could try an asymetric link via TM perhaps.
I'll try to monitor TM during the afternoon but as we have family visiting it will be sporadic!

Re: May 6th and 7th activity weekend
Thoroughly enjoyed today's outing, it was just a shame about the rain and wind!
Worked 6 stations, mainly 23cm Analogue:
G1LPS on 6cm P5 1-way, also 13cm P2 @50km
M1EGI/P 23cm 2-way P5 @110km
G8VDP 23cm Rx 1-way P2 106km
G8VAT/P 2-way P4/P5 70km
G3GJA/P 2-way P2/P4 70km, Clive was using a 2m 1/4wave antenna for 23cm, amazing!
GW3NWR/P 2m Received for 5 seconds, via an AirBus presumably! 220km
Thanks to all for coming on, 144.750 was the most active i have heard in many years.
Nice to meet Nick G4NKV who was on site checking his gear, receiving KM on 13cm for the first time.

Re: May 6th and 7th activity weekend
Excellent to see so much activity!
G8GKQ and I went to Win Green (IO80WX) near Shaftesbury on Saturday where it was windy and cold - not much ATV activity but did see GB3UT on 1311 and GB3ZZ on 1316. We worked Ken G4BVK in Bristol on 146 MHz using 8PSK over a 65Km obstructed path.
On Sunday i went to the Ridgeway overlooking Didcot (IO91IN) where the sun shone and I heard or worked the following:
G8DGR on 23cms FM
G8GKQ/p on Portsdown Hill on 70cms = 80Kms
G4CPE on 146 MHz and 70cms
G8LES one way on 437MHz
G0WFT 2 way on 146 MHz - great to work Don over a 70Km path
Heard or tried with G1HBD, M0SKM and G7JTT but no go either way.
G0MJW - Mike received my 1920 * 1080 HD pictures on 146 MHz using 32APSK over a 5Km path and then I received pictures from him /m as he drove up to site on 146 MHz.
Great fun, thanks to everyone who came out and looking forward to the big one in June!

Re: May 6th and 7th activity weekend
Only managed to get out on the Sunday and went to Win Green. Not a great day radio wise, but it didn't rain (little bit of drizzle first thing), had biplanes flying around displaying most of the day, model aircraft flying and paragliders so had plenty of entertainment. Things that went wrong my 70cm yagi swr went sky high(think I damaged the driven element in loading it into the car), a patch lead lost the centre pin out of the N type which ment no drive to the 2m or 23cm PA's. I did however get pictures from GB3SQ on a Alford slot @ MER 24. Will go back to WIn Green think it has the potential of being a great site, but next time I'll take more spares and a soldering iron !

Re: May 6th and 7th activity weekend
Great weekend, lot's of stations getting into GB3GV Talkback from the NW of Leicester, and GB3VL users to the East.
Denis G3UVR and Brian G4EJW, plus many more new to me.
Monitored the activity in the south via GB3HV, (Noel did break the squelch on GB3GV's Talkback a few times).
Locally we kept GV warm over the weekend with myself, Steve 2E0XAY on his Portsdown equipment and Mike G4XJS on 437.
My "across shack" Tx with a barefoot Pi in QPSKRF, did stray into GB3GV's 437 input, QTH only couple of miles away
A repeater with 144.750 Rx on their stream, 50 miles or so north of GV would increase interest for the whole ATV comunity?
Nice to hear that level activity every weekend, some still on air way onto the evening.

Re: May 6th and 7th activity weekend
Having been out with Noel at Win Green on Saturday, I went to Portsdown Hill on Sunday with 146, 437, 1255 and 10367.
I managed a 2-way with G8GTZ/P on 70 cms at 80km, and also worked Mike G8LES on 70 and 146. Unfortunately, I was the wrong end of the ridge to work G4KLB and G7JTT/P. Really pleased to hear so much activity around the Country.
Just before packing up, I took a look for G8MBU's 10 Ghz test transmission on the Isle of Wight. P5 at 21km. A successful day out as I now have a list of improvements to be made in my station before the Contest next month.

Re: May 6th and 7th activity weekend
The GW3NWR/P team of G4EWJ, G6NOI and GW7MHB converged on site just after noon at IO83FD72 near Bylchau (pronounced 'BULK eye' - any Welsh speakers please correct me). It was very sunny, but a bit breezy to begin with. The weather was not as good as our last visit here 18 months ago on November 1st.
To avoid the usual delays of putting the station together on site, I had connected all the digital items to a Pipo X8 and a 14 inch DVI screen. The screen proved to be invisible in daylight and then the Pipo starting making USB bing-bong noises and then packed up altogether. Fortunately I had brought the laptop. Unfortunately I had forgotten to bring any more mains outlets and we had to make do with just 4.
The site has a line of sight path to the Fylde coast area around Blackpool, 85km or so away and the takeoff is also good to the north-east. There was another group on Winter Hill near Bolton and with the 3 areas all trying to work each other on 2 bands and 2 modes, it became very hectic on 750. We didn't want to QSY in case we missed anything. Apologies to those we didn't get a screen capture of.
Contacts:
3cm analogue:
2-way with M0LCR / G7MNP / M6IID on Winter Hill at 85km
2-way with G3ZGZ in Cleveleys at 89km
received by G3RFL in Cleveleys at 89km
received GB3FY in Fleetwood at 92km
23cm analogue:
2-way with G3ZGZ, G3RFL, M0LCR / G7MNP / M6IID
2-way with G3WGU in Blackpool at 82km
2-way with G4WIM near Preston at 81km
received by G1EPL in Fleetwood at 92km
received by G4CBW in Staffordshire at 85km
23cm digital:
2-way with G4WIM both running 20mW - more power than we needed last time
received GB3TM on Anglesey at 59km (we couldn't access it on 15W)
received G4CBW - we had to beam towards the Clwydian hills some 30 degrees off the direct heading, coincidentally towards the moon
2m:
We we received by M0DTS/P on the North York Moors at 220km for a few seconds. Unfortunately we were unable to receive any video from him. We must have caught an A380 coming out of Manchester. B747s are apparently not big enough.
9cm:
On the way home we stopped off near Halkyn Mountain and received G4CBW on 9cm at massive strength on a bare C1W-PLL LNB. SR2000 32APSK is more bits than BBC-HD uses. Our first contact on this band.
It was a very enjoyable day out. Thanks to all who took part.
