ATV activity weekend - August 13th and 14th 2016

Due to family commitments I will only be active on the Saturday.

Currently thinking about going to Dunstable Downs, which has excellent take off to the North and North West - https://wiki.batc.tv/Dunstable_Downs_Bedfordshire - or somewhere in the Oxford area but not yet decided.

Plan would be to take all bands from 146MHz - 10 GHz.

I plan to be out portable on Saturday, with 146.5 & 437MHz, any symbol rate. The current plan is for a return to the Blorenge mountain.

I'm now confirmed for Dunstable Downs but with an early start (9am ready to go) and probably leaving site by 2pm - the tropo forecast is looking good for Saturday AM so it may pay to make an early start!

There should be a path to Bloringe and Brian's potential sites in the Peak District or Shropshire on 146MHz and also to Rob on the NYM. I also plan to spend some time working the locals in the Luton area so will need to plan things a bit.

Ideally I would only take 146 and 437 but can also take 23cms if it means I will work others in the area but no 10 GHz this time.

Talk back will be 144.750, mobile phone and http://www.dxspot.tv. Don't forget the low bandwidth version of the chat if you are out mobile but you will need to first log in to the main site first with your device (to pick up authentication cookies) and then go to https://philcrump.co.uk/dxchat/?room=1.

G3NWR will be at Merryton Low, Staffordshire with a possible quick stop south of Buxton, Derbyshire on the way. Saturday only, noon onwards.

We'll have tx / rx on 2m, 23cm, 3cm and rx on 70cm.

I'm going to a modest location on Saturday, a very open 132m surrounded by arable crops and corn stubble,
52.664655° -1.546293° near the top of the M42 a mile NNE of Twycross Zoo off the A444.

146.5 Rx and 437 Tx, 23cms digital Rx.

Hope to get signal to and from Brian for a start, but first trip out...
