This weekend I will transmit and receive from our new QTH on the South Coast of England in Cornwall on 437Mhz Digital DVB-S 300W as well as 1296Mhz Analogue TV and hope to make contact with stations in UK & France. I will listen 144.750Mhz and monitor www.dxspot.tv

Colin: I believe you can claim one qso per band per station worked, Analogue OR Digital not both.

Thanks Rob

Just trying to work out the rules! I assume there must be a way to record the fact the contact was Digital.

I may just use analogue on 23cm as it is twice the points, as far as I can make out.

Rob, Colin

Thanks for the questions. If you regard this weekend as having 2 separate contests, you won't go far wrong.

1. For the SummerFun, score and use numbers as usual. All bands are available. Digital contacts score the same as analogue, and you can only work each station once on each band (unless one station changes location).

2. For the Digital contest, only digital transmission paths count, and contacts on either 70 cm or 23 cm are to be scored at 1 point per km for a one-way digital contact and 2 points per km for a 2-way digital contact. If a 2-way contact is made, but one transmission path is analogue, the contact counts as a one-way contact for the Digital Section. If you are transmitting analogue and digital on the same band, I request that you use 2 different sets of numbers.

I am working on a new scoring spreadsheet that will incorporate these scoring rules, just to make things a bit easier.

I'm happy to answer as many questions as you like, as long as you all get on the air and have some fun!

G3NWR will be at Rhosesmor, North Wales on the Saturday only.

On receive we'll have analogue and digital on 70cm, 23cm, 13cm, 3cm.

On 70cm transmit we'll have 5W digital and on 23cm transmit we'll have 75W analogue, 25W digital.

I understand now, thanks for your fast response in clarifying the rules.
All set to have fun now!
Not so concerned with the points myself, but need to get it right for those I hope to work. :D

I will be on.

IO91LC, note that my site is badly screened by 80 feet high trees from North to East.

Can normally hear PI7CIS on 2metres but needs a small lift on 70cms to hear it. The St Austell becaon GB3MCB on 70cm 2M and 4 M are always audible.

Station;-

70cm Tx: Analogue and DVBS 2Msymbols 1/2 FEC. 27 ele loop yagi 400 watts at antenna

70cm Rx: Narrow band analogue 1.5MHz I.F. and Alteia DVBS Rx but limited to 1.667Msymbols minimum bit rate

23cm TX: Analogue FM and DVBS 4Msymbols 1/2 FEC. 4 by 68 element antennas 150 watts at antennas.

23cm Rx: Analogue double conversion Rx synthesised downconverter and FM Rx. Variable I.F bandwidth on FM Rx.

13Cm Tx: 19dBi skeleton dish with 60 watts at antenna. FM analogue or DVBS 4Msymbols 1/2 FEC. 2340Mhz.

13CM Rx masthead preamp and Comtech RX via filter, and Alteia DVBS Rx.

10Ghz Tx: 10 watts FM into 25dB horn.

10Ghz Rx: modified LNB and Comtech Rx 25dB horn.

Video PID 256
Audio PID 257
PCR PID 256

I will be doing a community ticket collecting job for a local school from 5pm on Saturday through to 7:pm local time so will be QRT during those times.

BATC SummerFun Contest Scoring Spreadsheet

Post by G8GKQ » Wed Jun 11, 2014 2:26 pm

Gents

I have modified the IARU Scoring Spreadsheet so that it can provide the normal SummerFun Score, and the Digital Section score. All you have to do is select (on a drop-down) whether each report was for an Analogue contact, a Digital contact, or a Digital duplicate contact. A digital duplicate contact is one with a station that you have previously claimed analogue points for, but now want to claim digital points.

Please have a play with it before the contest and let me know if there are any errors. You can download it from here: http://www.batc.org.uk/contests/Digital_Logsheet.xls New Version 2.1 uploaded 12 June

Not set up for contests here. Only have 23cm TX to GB3HV.
I will have 70 and 23 digi when I finish the PA's

I haven't received anything in a while as no activity
GB3HVTuesday nights is return path via web.

I have RX's for 70cm FM/Digi 23cm FM/Digi. and 13cm but no 13 cm antenna.
No activity so I have no idea if they work.
