Rob,
this topic has been opened on the Forum but basically see below.

https://rsgb.org/main/operating/licensi ... 47mhz-nov/

So I guess 146 DATV will have to stop until resolved....

It doesn't need to prevent DATV on 144-146 MHz though.

The RSGB bandplan is only a guideline, not a license condition, the all modes section 144.5-144.8 MHz the RSGB limit to 12kHz doesn't even allow standard bandwidth FM. Perhaps when 2m was well used it made sense, but that was decades ago now. If we can keep it in a 25 kHz channel, like we did on 10m, then I think we should see what can be done. After all we might not have access for ever and other countries don't. We are into innovation, lets innovate.

I'll be running 250kHz, 2/3 FEC, 1/32 Guard, DVB-T on 71MHz this morning. Hoping to work Gareth but if anyone else wants to have a try then I've got legal, NOV, power and a 5 ele rotatable LFA available. I seem only able to receive DVB-T though.

With regard to the 2m NOV, you'd think OfCom would plan them around our activity weekends wouldn't you  I could possibly try some of Mike's innovation tomorrow (Sunday), if there's any interest in this neck of the woods.

There's no reason to not use 144.6MHz with a 125kS/s transmission as the Dutch did a couple of years ago, very succesfuly.

It would be about +/- 90kHz wide so wouldn't encroach into the beacon areas.

Yes, good point Clive. I might give that a whirl later today and/or tomorrow.

Happy to swap the 4m beam for the 2m beam. I'm on another net until 10am Sunday but should be able to get stuff up and running by 11ish....
Hot preamp and some power available.....
Gareth
