Anyway, i hope to be out again this coming Sunday from around 8am onwards.
Location Ravenscar IO94RJ (i think).
Will have 2m and 70cm DATV with me and super path towards PA stations.

I may have found out the problem Rob......Beam up, rotator calibrated, amp checked...all OK. EXCEPT I did not swap my feed coax from my horizontal 70cms dipole for GB3JV to the 70cms beam.....if I live long enough I might get that bit automated......
I'll be ready early Sunday though.....with your big beams it might just work....

Gareth.... :o :o :o :o :o :o there's a few choice words for that situation!

Look forward to trying on Sunday.

@Dave, thanks, I wrote the message on my mobile so my guess was not too far out :-)

Try #2 ....with the coax connected to the correct antenna (14ele LFA @10m AGL).
Nothing seen or received from the continent, and despite two tries (Sunday morning and afternoon) only hints of any signal and brief suggestions of lock managed with Rob out /P at Ravenscar.
Resorting to FM (just about fully quieting) and CW produced about +10dB at Robs location. Good old Langstone did that for me :-)
Weather best described as 'stagnant' down south or perhaps soporific....
Better luck next time.....
Gareth
