A number of stations are going out portable so there's bound to be someone to work in your area - just try a call on 144.750.
Gareth G4XAT is already set up on Walbury Hill (the highest point in the south of England) near Newbury and is a huge signal on 70cms DATV and also 144.750, so if you are within 150 miles, give him a shout.
Dave G8GKQ is on Dunkery Beacon (1,500 ft ASL!) near Minehead today and near Lulworth Cove tomorrow, David M0YDH is on a high spot in Shropshire and Rob M0DTS is on a high spot on the North Yorkshire moors. (I'm just skulking around the south of England trying to get maximum points on the microwave bands....)
So do try and get on the air, even if you just work your neighbour, and then put in a log sheet - we MUST show we are using our bands before they all disappear - this particularly applies to 23cms
