Balloon Launch from CAT13 - Cancelled: Unfavourable winds
Posted: Wed Oct 09, 2013 1:55 pm
Hi All,
To partner my talk on HABs and in particular the use of imagery downlink in UK, I am planning a balloon launch from the Convention. This is provisionally planned for Saturday Afternoon, but is subject to wind forecasts that may dictate timing or necessitate abort if a wet/city landing looks likely.
The payload is planned to stream via 3G onto batc.tv for the first 1000m of ascent or until 3G signal is lost. It will then switch over to transmitting down live JPEG images over RTTY (aka SSDV), before returning to 3G streaming at 1000m on the descent. There will also be a RTTY/DominoEX beacon downlinking GPS information for recovery.
More information can be found at: http://www.philcrump.co.uk/BATC_HAB and will be updated as I progress.
Any questions, do ask!

Phil M0DNY
