Post by G8GKQ » Mon Nov 25, 2013 5:28 pm

Don't forget that the BATC Repeater Contest runs from 1200 UTC on Saturday 7 December until 1800 on Sunday 8 December. Time to make use of your local (and distant?) ATV Repeaters.

The recently re-written rules can be found here: http://www.batc.org.uk/contests/BATC_Re ... _Rules.pdf

The Excel (or Calc) spreadsheet for submitting your results is here: http://batc.org.uk/contests/Logsheet_Te ... peater.xls

G3NWR (Wirral ARS) will be operating from Poll Hill, Wirral on the Saturday. We should be able to get into GB3UD (Stoke) and GB3TM (Anglesey).

We should have ATV RX on 3, 23, 70 and possibly 13cm for other contacts.

G3NWR/P - null points.

We set up on Poll Hill and received - nothing. Not GB3TM, GB3UD, both line of sight, nor M0ATV running 150W from Stockport.

We moved half a mile down the road and received GB3TM without a preamp and then couple of miles further to receive M0ATV.

I suspect the receiver was being blocked by a signal from this:

Either that or stray zargon rays from comet Ison.
