I finally managed to get mine in a box. It's going to be used portable, so I put all connectors and controls on one face so it's easy to see what's switched on and what's fallen out. There's room for more amplification and also power supplies for the PVR-USB2 and maybe 19v for the laptop. The three 12v input options should cope with all power supplies used at home and in the car.

The LO is based on an RFMD PLL350-1260Y. It would work out more expensive than the Ultram, but I just happened to have some. The pcb bottom right is the 10mW BGA6589 amplifier. It has a P1 of 100mW, so could probably do 50mW. The pcb on the DigiLite 10 way header is for testing the SD card interface and also a handy anchor point for the USB splicing. The black switch on the front is in the 'INSERTED' line from the SD card, so that it can be switched in and out without having to physically remove the card. The button is to step through files on the card.

Looks excellent Chris, I can see what you mean about the sma socket, fits a lot better, the vco looks very tidy in the tinned box, good luck with the final test phase.

Hi guys well it works tested today at g8hcb's, dont have a Lo yet later this week i hope, lots of bad soldering around ic1 but ok now. had some probs with the 8v reg(TL750-M08,, RS709-3153,, 750MA), i am not using the one in the parts list, so had to add some caps to the in and out of it.
Thanks to Tony m0atv for the mar-6

Hi all on the forum construction progress at this stage it has progresses from the wood board is was
mounted on to the box stage, have built mind into a old serial switcher box and it fit's in OK.

Have used a celebration's tin lid to make the 1249 VCO box and 1000pf feed through cap for supply still
have room for the VCO add on as when it is completed, and now to mount the Mitsubishi PA in the top
cover as this should be straight forward.

Now it has 2 watts of RF power using SPB-2026z pa, with the G4DDK SPF5043Z amplifier as a preamp
to drive the SPB-2026z.

Now have fitted Amplifier to the top Cover
