DigiLite on 13 cm (2300 MHz)?

Hi

Has anyone tried running DigiLite directly on 13 cm? I note that the AD8346 IQ Modulator is within spec between 800-2500 MHz.

Would it be as simple as applying a 2300 MHz oscillator, or are there other issues (the balun?)

I'm just scoping a high-level design and wondered whether I should directly generate for 13 cm or would need to mix up (from 437 MHz?).

Thanks

Dave

Not tried it yet, but apart from some tweeking of the output stage I would expect it to work.
some don't even use the balun! but the one I use (ETC1-1-13) is tested to 3GHz anyway.
Let us know if you try it.

Thanks. I'll try it once the system is proved working on 1249 MHz; it may be a while....

Just tested my Digilite on 13cms using an Ultram VCO on 2422MHz (needed a test signal for my ISS project) and it worked fine. :D

Thanks Colin

I'll press ahead with my dual-band transmitter then!

Hi
Just out of Interest I am going to try a YIG at 23cm but the output is too high and needs dropping about 24dB this is to go into a DIGILITE PCB
No reason why you cannot get a 13cm YIG they are perfectly clean and low phase noise with no mixer elements to worry about just keep the current very stable
This is on my TODO list so will keep you informed

It should be an ideal LO.

I still have a 9GHz YIG oscillator in my projects box to use with a mixer to do all modes on 3cm.
