SUP-2400 for 70 Cms.

Post by G0AZQ » Tue Jan 03, 2012 5:48 pm

Hi All .... Has anyone worked out how to activate the up converter without having to solder in the link wire from the 5 volt regulator and sniping pins 14, 17 and 18 off the chip ?
I have modified two and they both work. It is only necessary to link the reg. to the pads from the sniped leads 17 and 18.
5 volts is present on the pad from sniped pin 14 without having to link it.
Perhaps the SUP just needs a tone or something shoving up it to switch it on. It would then only need the feed through power removing.

Ive not even opened my SUP-400 up yet, too busy trying to finalise the digilite 70cm build off, hope to get it done in the next few weeks so will watch this thread with interest, did you have to change any settings in the SAT RX menu such as LNB setting etc , also how deaf is the SUP-400 ?

Hi Tony ... See previous post under Goodmans Sat Receiver.
LNB Power ON to supply SUP. Vertical polarisation (13 volts) to keep the 5 Volt Reg.in SUP cooler.
Regarding sensitivity, about 30 Microvolts before it drops out, Checked using Spectrum Analyser.
Not used on air yet, as still needing filtering and amp. to feed PA.
