RTMP vs SRT

Hello @all,

I read some time ago that there is a new video-player for the Raspi.
https://streamrus.com/player.html
The player is free and can be used on a Raspi.

We use the predecessor for the repeater db0ov to implement a stream entry via Hamnet.
The player provides a signal on a pin when a steam is present. This gives you the opportunity to carry out an evaluation.

Now the current player has also the SRT protocol, but I haven't had time to test the player because of moving.
Yesterday I managed to send a stream within my shack.

Well today I was looking for a test of the SRT protocol and found this:

Very interesting

SRT can also be steamed with OBS.
Maybe this is interesting for one or the other.

Hello,

Just to add : I found srt protocol much better to stream between my smartphone and OBS (using my phone as a camera). In addition it streams also HEVC protocol, rtmp does not.
I use the Larix application
Hereafter two pictures showing my configuration, one on the phone (Larix), the other on OBS (Media source)

when I started testing yesterday, I didn't get a picture at first. Until I noticed that it sometimes took 30 seconds for a video to be displayed.
In the meantime I've played around with the settings and the picture is there within a second - here within the home network.

Here are my output settings:
