HDMI to BATC Streamer

Post by G8KWR » Sun Mar 14, 2021 4:28 pm

Is there any software around for a Pi (or perhaps better a Jetson??) with an HDMI dongle to take an input from my DATV receiver (local repeater) and stream it to the BATC streamer. Have tried a Chinese H.264/H.265 encoder box, but that is extremely hit and miss. At the moment I am doing it with VMIX and an HDMI dongle on a Windows machine. Works fine, but it means the Windows machine is is on 24/7. I need something dedicated that I can leave unattended that just works.

Any ideas gratefully received.

Thank you

Roger

Hi Roger,

One way to do it would be install OBS on the jetson, with a USB HDMI capture device. Then setup OBS to stream to the BATC in the normal way.

I used to use the Jetson to run OBS, LongMynd and encode H265 then stream to the Portsdown. So just streaming to the BATC should be fine.
