Thanks for the report Kay

I had thought about the time/time zone issue - I may make it configurable in a future update.

Hi Dave

First failure in a while - today it failed 12:57 (Friday 23/11) and just clicking the 'Start' the streaming continued okay.

I have had VL streaming and this evening Portsdown screen simply says valid stream detected.

Do not know if this is the same on other streams

Kay

Thanks for the report. Here's the situation:

Our volunteer system admin (Phil M0DNY) correctly applied a security update on the server yesterday at 1256. There was an unavoidable 5 second loss of service which briefly disconnected all the streams. Eighteen streams immediately re-authenticated and reconnected. Three did not: GB3GG, GB3GV and GB3YT.

I've e-mailed the 3 repeater keepers directly to investigate the problem further.

Nick - re GB3VL streaming. It works OK on my Portsdown. Is it working for you today?

it works Dave but I sometimes still get the same msg .
I tried it on a couple of other streams and on one I got the same result.
I am running the latest build but have now (10 mins ago) forced anotherupdate having just read one of your threads.
Watch this space I will monitor again and see what happens.
Also noted that stream from GB3TV has broken.
I was repeater stream hopping this am it showed a street image,
Now its just a black image,

73 and Kind Regards

Hi Nick

The omxplayer application used by the Portsdown to display streams does not always correctly display the contents of the stream. The fault seems to lie in the application, not in the Portsdown itself, so I am unable to fix it. The "valid stream detected" message is an attempt to sticky-plaster the fault, rather than simply display a black screen as used to happen.

I'm unable to improve omxplayer as it is not our application. It really is only a bonus add-on for the Portsdown transmitter.

Hi Dave
Its a great bonus
I only mentioned it because another station seemed to have experienced the same.

Something a little different happened last night.

The stream failed at 00:05 and had 380 attempts only to reconnect until 00:38, but then it recommenced the 10 second cycle of attempt/reconnect/fail until I restarted it manually this morning.

I'll email Phil direct as well.

Another fail on streaming last night (Sat/Sun) which again was a bit different...

1:11am - Failed but re-connected okay
2:44am - Four failed attempts to re-connect
2:47am - Attempt/Reconnect/Fail 10 second loop until I manually re-started the stream.
