Also noted that stream from GB3TV has broken.
I was repeater stream hopping this am it showed a street image,
Now its just a black image,
73 and Kind Regards
Nick
GB3TV is off air and the street image is the streaming location in Leighton Buzzard.
We're patiently waiting for a fix.

I was just about to post saying that it hadn't failed for ages, when it stopped streaming!!
Apart from a glitch on Dec 21st at 11:18 (This restarted okay on its own), the latest fail was last night at 23:34 Jan 12 until I reset the PC at 9:13 Jan 13th. Between those times it did its 10second retry loop.

I'm still getting regular fails and having to re-start streaming almost everyday. It did seem to settle down at one point, but once again its back to almost everyday. Did anyone ever get any further as to why this is happening on what seems to be the GB3YT stream only?
It looks like the writing is on the wall for Flash anyway, so are there any help pages for changing it away from Adobe?
Thanks, Kay

Hi Kay,
It is quite easy to stream HTML5 with OBS
https://obsproject.com or Vmix
https://www.vmix.com . Both are free to download and use, though you need to apply for a free licence for Vmix. I am currently using OBS to stream GB3EN and IO91WN. The worst part of streaming this way is the 30-50 second delay. It seems that higher bit rates have less delay.

Hi Kay
Apologies, we had to do some brief server maintenance yesterday (trying to track down why the main BATC site is so slow at the moment), and that may have caused you to need to restart.
Interested that it has been good and then started failing again. We'll keep an eye on things as we continue our work to improve the service.

Thanks Duncan for the info - I'll have a look at that.
Thanks for the update Dave. It would sometimes run okay for quite a few days, then out of the blue it would fail. Yesterday and today have been non-stop failures of streaming, but I did notice there were some problems with the BATC site being very slow.
I think I'll abandon restarting until you have had chance to sort out the root problems with the website.
73's, Kay

I know this is an older thread however I bought and built a new RPI 3B+ based Portsdown 2020 yesterday and the stream is becoming inactive every few hours. I had been experiencing the same issue with an external stream box, which had previously been stable for days on end, so build a dedicated Portsdown to act as the main continuous stream as I build the virtual repeater.
Do I need to upgrade to the Portsdown 4 as my main repeater streamer or is this a known problem with an easy fix?

Andy
The Portsdown 2020-based stream receiver is stable, but depends on the quality of the stream going into the BATC server and on the local internet connection.
The GB3HV transmitted stream has been running for many weeks now without a problem (Potsdown 2020 on a Raspberry Pi 3), and today I monitored 7 hours of the BATC CAT20 on my Raspberry Pi 3B+ Portsdown 2020 without interruption.
