Streaming using Raspberry PI

Looking at the excellent Portsdown project and interested to follow up on streaming using the PI.
https://wiki.batc.tv/Streaming_to_batc. ... spberry_Pi
https://wiki.batc.tv/DATV_Equipment_Shopping_List
The Portsdown list states using a PI 3. However, my question is, if just streaming and nothing else, can an older PI be used?
Thanks
Dave

Hi Sean,
Don't quite understand the question but if you feed the composite video out (yellow phono / SCART) from the Sat Rx in to the composite input on the Easycap dongle on the Portsdown and set it up as described on the wiki
https://wiki.batc.tv/Streaming_to_batc. ... spberry_Pi whatever is received on the Sat Rx will be streamed on batc.tv.

Hi
The raspi is not a card - it's a standalone Raspberry Pi - take a look at this page with full details of the hardware and where to get it from:
https://wiki.batc.org.uk/Portsdown_hardware
You will only need the Rpi + Easycap video capture dongle + SD card and maybe the touch screen to do video streaming as described here:
https://wiki.batc.org.uk/Streaming_to_b ... spberry_Pi
I'll reply re the filter shortly.

Hi Sean
You will need a Raspberry Pi 3. The older versions might just work, but are not supported.

Was going to setup Pi 3B+ because Pi stopped streaming intermittently, before I did, replaced PSU now > 5.1v.
I was using a unbranded 5v 2.5 Amp supply,
~ 4.8v, now Pi Hut one all OK, will use a more professional PSU on final build.
If all else fails Read the Wiki
Also changed 12v power supply to repeater controller to
drastically reduce noise from repeater to Pi streamer.
This is not noticed when streaming to old Batc dot Tv server using Adobe Flash Encoder...
Maybe earth loop?
So far
Peter
