Hi running streamers for GB3TN and GB3NV via clunky PC's and one is on it ways to X86 heaven can I ask what capture cards people are using to stream and also anything different from PCI / ISA capture devices ?

Hi Mark,
Some Easycap or Pinnacle DVC100 USB capture devices seem work OK with Adobe and or Vmix (which will also stream direct to batc.tv).
HOWEVER, what may be of more interest is that the Portsdown Project https://wiki.batc.tv/The_Portsdown_Transmitter can be used as a standalone streaming box, removing the need for a PC - very useful for repeater keepers
It is in the current Portsdown software version but it is still beta and untested and you will just need a Rpi (preferrably a 3 but others may work), an Easycap for video in and USB sound card. Then using the console mode, follow the instruction in https://wiki.batc.tv/Initial_setup, set the output to stream to BATC.TV, enter your stream details and it should stream to the server.
Update - currently there is no sound on the streaming as it uses the on board MPEG4 encoder but will hopefully be fixed soon.
Note it is still beta and untested but give it a try and let us have feedback....

Re. IO92GQ. Powered By 6x125AH Batteries Charged By Solar Pannels, a total of 600W.
To reduce power consumption an Axis Q7401 is RTSP streaming to Webcamsue. (No Pc Required).
It also has remote control functions onboard, the RTSP is converted to RTMP on their server,

So IO92GQ consists of Sat Rx's, SD testcard viewer, video switch and a Q7401.
Will look at Pi streaming possibilities, also have just had Pipo delivered to possibly handle RB-TV Rx in future.
The Axis Q7401 costs £££.00
I picked up two on EBay for £40.00 and £50.00 one needed firmware upgrade.
An interesting experiment keeping the power needs down, all to play with, more results later.

GB3KM uses the following:
Rx: Comag SL65 12v Sat receiver, 3.4GHz LNB.
AV Capture: Hauppauge PVRUSB2 capture box, as used for DigiLite
PC: Dell 1545 dual core Laptop running Ubuntu Linux
Encoding Software: ffmpeg.
ffmpeg is configured to stream to batc and take snapshots every 5min which i use for a gallery of activity.
Laptop is scheduled to run certain times of the day, and tun off around midnight.
