Larix Broadcaster alternative

Post by G7JTT » Mon Sep 02, 2024 8:52 am

Morning all seems Larix Broadcaster is now putting a text overlay from the start of a stream, which makes it unusable now. Now whilst I'm not against paying for it I can't justify £10 per month for the one or two time I need to use it, so a quick search around came up with IRL Pro available on the Google play site. Unfortunately it does look like it's android only but I'm sure there is an alternative for apple fan's too.

Hope this is of use to some,

Thanks for the heads up, John. This works well and seems stable.

A couple of others I tried as a replacement for Larix crashed so much that they were unusable.

Try Streamcadst. Built on the Larix APIs with no subscription or overlays.

Haivision Player Pro works good, I used it last night on my broadcast
It streams and plays, just setting up and making work first time is the hard bit
Havision pioneered SRT, so they should know a bit about it, the SRT alliance now has NVidia on board too
Pity about Larix, odd really since SRT is an open(ish) standard

Can anyone confirm if you have an old instance of Larix, that it still works without the overlay

I would also like to know how well SRT works in a mesh environment, if it moves seamlessly around the network, it should
Works well over Celular Network, but my cheap tablet in the shed only has Wifi
I going to try two wifis on the same network with same login details to move from the shed to the house before I shell out for Mesh

Roger, the old version on my Android phone (probably not opened for a couple of years) instantly came up with a big red overlay when I started the stream. Shame, it worked well for a 'roving camera' option.

Hello All

May be an alternative solution ..... ;)
In its simplest form, VDO.Ninja brings live video from a smartphone, tablet, or remote computer, directly into OBS Studio or other browser-enabled software
