Repeater access

Post by G8JAN » Mon Feb 25, 2008 7:25 pm

Can anyone confirm that access is still possible on 1248/9? I couldn't even get a K during the recent openings! By the way the repeater audio output level is very low compared to most other repeaters received during the lifts. Comments anyone from the repeater group?

Hi Pete,
Re your question regarding access to GB3VL the 1249 input has been ditched for the time being due to horrendous problems with Radar interference, which was making the throughput picture un-watchable.

It was therefore decided to move further up the band to 1280mhz which in itself was not without problems initially, due to the close proximity of the output on 1310 ..... this has now been rectified making the repeater much more user friendly ...

The sound is another matter, I believe the RX has been suffering on and off ...... The matter has been pointed out to Bob who is keeper and will no doubt get rectified as and when time permits ......

Dave .........
