Repeater on Air

Post by g4wvu » Thu Dec 12, 2013 7:19 pm

TN is back on air with a new (MOSFET) PA to run DVB.
Old Mitsubishi brick has nearly 24 years continuous use on it & still runs exactly the same output!

Is TN going to be a fixed Digital output soon or switched betwen Analogue/Digital?

I see it on Analogue fairly often from my portable site in IO94MJ.

Hi Rob, (must check that location :-) ) no its switchable - actually from tonight it can Tx DVB-S but timed (due to the power consumption of the NDS encoder & Modulator) so its only available from 2000-2300 weekdays & 1600-2300 weekends in DVB.

DVB-S is selected by DTMF "8" on main audio channel or 433.4 NBFM but only during the above times for the moment. (I will fit a time-out on DTMF 8 soon so it can be requested anytime)
Power is limited on DVB to 10w average (Bird meter)to keep the regrowth to an acceptable level.
Parameters: 4MS/s, FEC 3/4, main audio on L1

Hope this answers Qs.

Thanks for the info,

Analogue is easier to find when it's a weak signal :-)
