Is It On the Air

Post by aiqy65 » Tue Apr 14, 2009 8:34 pm

Before i take to the road with a boot full of kit can somebody tell me if LX is on the air.

It one of two nearby 10GHz transmitters and is great for "calibrating" my receiver as I have no idea what frequency
my tx head is really running at. Hopefully lx will give me a marker

Cheers

Hi Lee

At present i believe it is off air for some maintenance...
Bob, G7AVU will be able to tell you more i'm sure, listen out for him on 144.750
He has 10G tx/rx also so maybe able to give you a marker signal.

If you have a known calibrated RX lnb you can connect a frequency counter to the IF output and measure your TX frequency..
Using harmonics of a 2.4GHz transmitter as a reference for finding the offset of the RX LNB is possible too.
