Hi All,
I would like to try a Datv 70cm transmission to the UK.
Is there any repeater that can receive this signal from Holland ?
And where do I find the settings for this transmission.
Feq - and other settings ! !

GB3JV JO01AJ has a very sensitive 70cms input with a Big Wheel omni. I have accessed it from over 100km away (with 150W and a beam).
Send DVBs or S2 at 333kS and check the stream.
Good luck.
Gareth

Thank you Gareth,

Could you tell me on what frequency you operate in the UK
In Holland we use 436.00 at PI6ATV repeater.

Just to clarify, we have, as far as I am aware, no 70cm DATV repeater outputs. The band is shared with the satellite band and the primary user. There are now a few 70cm repeater inputs, typically on 437 MHz.

Ideally these should try to avoid the satellite segment 435-438MHz. In the US they use 438.250MHz for video inputs in their much wider 70cm band. Perhaps we should do the same for DAVT repeater inputs? However, the RSGB are still a bit behind the curve and only think of FM, DMR and DV and have little knowledge of reduced bandwidth DATV, so have indicated 438-440 MHz should be no wider than 25 kHz. This forces DATV into the 435-438 MHz segment and interference between satellite and DATV is a problem. The RSGB band plan says about 435-438 MHz that "This area of the band is also shared with digital fast-scan television (DATV) centred at 437 MHz, although ATV operators are also encouraged to use microwave allocations where available."

Interference is not a large problem yet because DATV use of 70cm is still quite limited, but if we were to set up a network of DATV repeaters with inputs in this range it could quickly become a problem as there are many many more satellites than there were in the 1980s and DATV is growing quickly. There is much synergy/overlap between the two now we have QO100, HAMTV etc. It would be very nice to have a 70cm DATV output slot, say 500kHz, especially as we may lose 23cm. That could be paired with an official input channel.
