In speaking with a family friend, Ted H, he was reminiscing about his time at the Engineering Research Dept (Retired 1991), at the BBC (Kingswood Warren - Tadworth).
Should anyone remember 'Ted', then he would like to pass on his best wishes to you.

Re: Ted H from BBC Eng Research - Tadworth
I remember Ted very well. He's a very good classical guitarist and gave me a couple of lessons while I was at KW back in the 80s. Please reciprocate his best wishes

Kingswood was a great place to work.
The allotments were a bit of fun too
Such a shame they closed it.

I visited there a few times - luxury accommodation for engineers. No wonder they closed it.

Ted will appreciate your comments, which I will certainly pass on.
The below is a link about his current passion as he spent many early years here - having visited last week, it must have been very harsh.. It was only his later accidental interest in electronics and then the BBC, which transformed his future. Ted is now is his 90's.
