There was a post on the WB Chat that said Evariste had stopped developing the firmware due to criticisms and gripes about it. I sincerely hope it was wrong but have noticed his hackham link for firmware has gone.

I hope not!
Evariste was always helpful to me.
Even a TeamViewer session to sort things out.
Lets hope the idiots haven't spoilt it for everyone.

Without Evariste, DATV would not be where it is today.
Some people don't seem to realise how much time and effort goes into writing software.
All of us here are very grateful for the amazing work he has done.

THANK YOU Evariste

There are some self important clowns out there, there was one German amateur giving Jean-Pierre grief a while ago because he was tired of waiting for a software update. I'm afraid I lost my cool and told him to wind his neck in.

I think this is a problem we need to deal with but the larger picture is there is a risk if you become reliant on one source. People can get ill, or lose interest or most frequently find they no longer have time due to some change or other in their situation. That's why it is safer for development to be done collaboratively. I wonder if we have the toolchain for the pluto so we can continue to support it? Way beyond my skill set but others may be able to help.

Development does not go on in a vacuum, the people behind the software you all use talk to one another behind the scenes.

Charles,

I hope you, Jean-Pierre, Evariste, Brian, Tim and anyone else know how much some of us appreciate all your work.

Agreed, the software guys doing great work for our simple users.
And we are only complaining about what we are missing.
