As mentioned on the BATC Thursday night net, it would be good to know what MER people are getting the beacon at so others know how well (or not) their system is performing:
G8GTZ - 1.2mt dish - MER 9.6 and D4.8

8.9dB using 1m dish and no other signals on the sat.
Octagon green 4-port LNB.
Cherry tree is causing some degradation though....

This evening on the net it was around 10.5 measured by Winterhill. It's peaking 11.5 now, range 11.3-11.5 on the Ryde. That's probably partly the difference in the tuners and partly there are no other signals at the moment.
The lift in the noise floor was about 5 dB in August 2019., it's less now the trees have grown again.

Thanks for the responses.
I've been monitoring the MER using the Portsdown large screen readout and seen a variation of 3dB between 10db on an empty transponder and 7dB with the useage below!
A single large signal can drop the MER by 1 dB - something to be aware of when tweaking your dish!
